NextFront Patient Access Platform
The front office, automated — without replacing your EHR.
The Patient Access Platform runs intake, scheduling, reminders, no-show prevention, and secure patient messaging for medical, dental, behavioral health, and physical therapy practices. Deterministic engines own every booking and writeback; AI assists under strict human review and never gets to decide. It writes back to the systems you already run over FHIR, and runs inside your own cloud boundary — Claude via Amazon Bedrock under the AWS BAA, so patient data stays in your AWS account and never reaches a third-party AI vendor.
System Capabilities
AI Proposes. Your Team Decides.
Deterministic engines own every booking and writeback. The model returns a structured suggestion a human approves — it can never commit a change on its own, and below-threshold outputs go to a staff review queue instead of acting.
Digital Intake
Smart forms with PHQ-9 and GAD-7 auto-scoring, conditional branching, and e-signature. Patients complete paperwork on their own device before the visit instead of on a clipboard in the waiting room.
Scheduling and Check-In
Deterministic slot search against your real availability, waitlist management, and mobile plus QR self check-in — so the schedule fills without the front desk running the phones.
Reminders and No-Show Prevention
Risk-tiered reminder cadences over SMS, email, voice, and web push, with no-show risk scoring, automated recall and recare, and TCPA quiet hours respected throughout.
Secure Patient Messaging
Two-way patient threads with department routing and AI triage that floats urgent messages to the top. Symptom-heavy messages return an approved emergency-escalation script — the AI never judges clinical urgency.
Eligibility and Revenue Cycle
Insurance-card OCR plus real-time eligibility over X12 270/271 verify coverage and parse copay and deductible before the visit — fewer denials, and copay captured at check-in.
Integrates With Your Stack
FHIR R4 and SMART on FHIR, HL7 v2, X12 EDI, and C-CDA, with SAML/OIDC single sign-on and IdP-enforced MFA. Appointments and demographics sync back to the EHR you already run.
Auditable by Design
A hash-chained, tamper-evident audit trail on every PHI touch — a modified or deleted record is detectable and a chain break auto-opens a breach incident. Includes a breach console with the §164.402 four-factor assessment and 60-day clock.
Deployment Process
Connect Your EHR
Link the platform to your system of record over FHIR and set your appointment types, providers, and availability. Nothing about your clinical workflow changes — this rides on top.
Turn On Intake and Scheduling
Publish your smart intake forms and self-booking, and patients start completing paperwork and confirming appointments before they arrive.
Work a Quieter Front Desk
Risk-tiered reminders go out, no-shows drop, messages stay in one triaged thread per patient, and intake and eligibility data land where they belong without anyone re-typing them.
Start With Your Practice
Scoped to your practice
Per-practice deployment · EHR connection over FHIR · intake and scheduling configured with your team
Connects to Your Existing Stack
NextFront Patient Access Platform plugs into the platforms you already run.
Common Questions
Does this replace our EHR?
No. The Patient Access Platform owns intake, scheduling, reminders, and engagement, and writes back to your EHR over FHIR. Your system of record stays your system of record — there is no rip-and-replace.
What is the AI allowed to do?
It classifies, extracts, summarizes, and drafts. It does not diagnose or judge urgency, and it cannot commit a booking or a writeback — deterministic engines do that after a human approves. Low-confidence outputs route to a staff review queue instead of acting.
Where does patient data go?
Claude runs via Amazon Bedrock under the AWS BAA, so there is no third-party AI vendor and patient data stays in your AWS account. Every AI request is hashed into the immutable audit trail, with prompts and responses redacted rather than written in the clear.
Is this a complete HIPAA compliance program?
No, and we do not claim it is. It gives you the technical safeguards — field-level encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, row-level tenant isolation, a tamper-evident audit log, breach workflow, MFA and SSO, TCPA quiet hours, and policy-based retention. Production still needs your signed BAAs, risk analysis, and access reviews.
How is it different from NextFront?
It is the healthcare deployment of the same platform, run separately for practices. NextFront covers service verticals like HVAC, salons, auto, and events; the Patient Access Platform is built for medical, dental, behavioral health, and PT practices and the compliance expectations that come with protected health information.
